Tina Lawson, the mother of superstar singer Beyoncé, has officially filed for divorce from Hollywood actor Richard Lawson after eight years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences."


According to documents obtained by TMZ, Tina filed for divorce on Wednesday and requested that the court terminate its ability to award spousal support to either party.


Rumors about their separation had been circulating on the internet, especially after fans noticed Tina's absence during the press tour for Richard Lawson's movie "Black Terror," which was released last year. Furthermore, she had removed his last name from her Instagram bio and reverted to her former name, Tina Knowles.


Before marrying Richard Lawson, Tina was previously married to Matthew Knowles from 1980 to 2011. The former couple has two children together, Beyoncé and Solange. Their marriage ended in 2011 after it was revealed that Matthew had been involved in an extramarital affair and fathered a child with his mistress.
