Police Apprehend Six for Armed Robbery in Bauchi
The Bauchi State Police have made a significant breakthrough in their pursuit of criminals, arresting six suspects involved in armed robbery and heinous acts of violence. The arrests were made in two separate operations, as detailed in the official statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil.
In the first incident, a suspect identified as Muhammad Abdullahi, also known as Luwawu, was apprehended. He had been on the police watch list since 2021 for his involvement in criminal conspiracy, thuggery, and causing grievous harm. Abdullahi, along with two others who are still at large, had committed a horrifying crime, attacking a 25-year-old man named Mubarak Abdullahi. During the attack, they removed the victim's left hand and inflicted a stab wound to his head. The arrest came after a police patrol team raided a black spot at Sabon Layi, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis.
In another operation, detectives attached to the 'C' Divisional Police Headquarters arrested six suspected members of the dreaded Sara-Suka group. The arrest took place during a raid of a criminal hideout located at Nasarawan Madina Quarters in Bauchi. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in armed robbery and acts of thuggery.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included a long knife and some dry leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, commonly known as Indian hemp. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crimes.
The police are continuing their efforts to track down the remaining suspects in the first incident, after which they will be charged and brought to justice. Meanwhile, investigations into the activities of the Sara-Suka group are ongoing to uncover any potential links to other criminal activities.
These arrests demonstrate the relentless determination of the Bauchi State Police to combat crime and ensure the safety and security of the residents. By apprehending these criminals, the police are sending a strong message that criminal activities will not be tolerated, and those who engage in such acts will face the full force of the law.
